Canadian-Trinidadian artist Curtis Talwst Santiago imbues vintage jewelry boxes with both bucolic moments and scenes of societal disaster in a collection of work titled Infinity Series. The Edmonton-born artist started his career in Toronto, creating intricate scenes in antique ring boxes. Canadian artist, engaged in mixed media and performance practices.
Through his work, he explores the narrative of art history, whilst inserting elements of different cultures in order to engage a larger audience and in hopes of broadening the art historical canon as a whole. For the last two years he has been devoted to his project, Infinity, a series of miniature dioramas housed in reclaimed ring boxes.
