Photographer Derrick Lin resides in United State of America who recreates miniature worlds that tell stories of woe and frustration that are part and parcel of life using only his iPhone, his desk lamp, and his expansive collection of miniatures.
Derrick renders them as humorous scenes of miniature figures acting out relatable and universally aggravating work struggles. These mini vignettes include a narrative on contemporary life that many can relate to. Whether it’s burning the midnight oil, early morning client call, or on the road traveling for business, his tiny people are always there making sure he doesn’t hide his feelings.
Many of his photos have been collected in an upcoming book titled Work, Figuratively Speaking: The Big Setbacks and Little Victories of Office Life, published this fall through the Universe. Follow Derrick Lin on Instagram.
