Ben Young brings Beauty of Ocean water into Glass and Concrete Sculptures.

Born in New Zealand and now residing in Sydney, Australia is a self taught artist Ben Young whose been making glass and concrete sculptures for last 15 years. He makes intricate wave sculptures by stacking layers of laminated, clear float glass atop a concrete base. He has spent most of his life in North Island so his art has largely been influenced by the ocean and bodies of water and brings these passions together in his evocative glass forms.

Glass and concrete don’t sound like much alone but Ben manages to assign glass, a liquid-like quality through laborious cutting and layering. Every piece of his art has been hand drawn, hand cut and handcrafted, no computer or high-tech machinery is being used, layer on layer to create the end product.
