Steve Casino Turns Peanut Shells into Stupendous Pop Culture Portraits

Self-taught artist Steve Casino residing in New York transforms peanuts into awesome pop culture portraits. Steve paints life like renditions of famous characters onto peanuts. Steve uses the snaky shells as his canvas and turns each peanuts into a meticulous portrait of characters.

Steve first spends time finding the perfectly shaped peanut, once it’s found, the nut inside is extracted and the shell is glued back together. The next step is to create a wood filler that spreads onto the front, making it a smooth painting surface. Legs and  a back stand are added followed by the arms, once the painting is completed. These tiny paintings can take up to 10 hours to finish.
